FAQs

Here are the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions. However, if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

How do I get to Broadstairs?

If you have requested an airport collection, you will be met at the airport by your tutor and taken directly to Broadstairs by car. Alternatively, you can travel to Broadstairs using public transport. For more information about transport links please visit the Travel Information page.

What happens when I arrive?

Host tutors are experienced in making overseas guests feel at home and will explain all about their home and the meal and lesson times and things to do in the area. You will be made to feel comfortable so that total immersion is enjoyable rather than hard work. Courses are from Sunday evening to Saturday morning. The Sunday evening is spent with the teacher listening to the student and noting the areas for attention. Lessons are from Monday to Friday. The first session on Monday is spent assessing your level and discussing your needs for learning the language, before designing the course to achieve your objectives.

What happens out of lessons?

Out of lessons you are free to do as you wish. We do not arrange activities or excursions for clients; instead, you are able to organise your free time and pursue your own interests. This enables us to keep the overall cost of the course competitive, and provides clients with the flexibility to budget during their stay. Your tutor will, of course, be more than happy to provide you with information about the local area and help you.

Can I bring my spouse/partner/friends?

Yes. Friends and family members are welcome to stay with you during your stay.  Accommodation for accompanying guests is charged at £18 per night per person.  Usually, only one additional person is permitted to accompany you; however, in some circumstances two guests may be permitted to visit.

Can I smoke in my teacher’s house?

No. Smoking is only permitted in designated outside areas.
